PhD Student Lillian Hussong Travels to Sweden and Publishes Article

PhD student Lillian Hussong travelled to Umeå, Sweden to attend the 9th International Conference on Arctic Social Science (ICASS IX).  ICASS IX is a triennial conference hosted by the International Arctic Social Sciences Association.  Hussong was awarded a partial fellowship from the National Science Foundation’s Arctic Social Sciences Program to present her article “America’s Arctic Strategy: Explaining Obama’s Neglect of Regional Security Policies.”  The conference was held at Umeå University between June 8 – 12, 2017.  The next conference will be held in Arkhangelsk, Russia in 2020.

Hussong also recently published an article in Fwd: Museums, a journal at the University of Illinois at Chicago.  Her article was titled “Confronting the Holocaust: Immersive Counter-Memorials as Sites of Collective Memory.”
