In 2017, the Division of Global Affairs launched a new initiative to provide intellectual and practical training in eight Areas of Inquiry (AI).  This new system updates the previous "concentrations" offered by DGA.  Each AI course engages in critical issues that are shaping world politics and global systems.  In addition to offering a variety of courses in these areas of inquiry, the Division of Global Affairs faculty and graduate students are active researchers—publishing and lecturing globally—in these areas.  Research and learning opportunities are enhanced by inter-university partnerships including the Center for the Study of Genocide and Human Rights (CGHR) which holds a UNESCO Chair in Genocide Prevention.
